The books were published between 1950 and1956, with one book being released each year. The books were:

  • The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  • Prince Caspian: Return to Narnia
  • The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
  • The Silver Chair
  • The Horse and His Boy
  • The Magician's Nephew
  • The Last Battle

The children, listed youngest to eldest, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter are siblings. Their last name is Pevensie. They aren't featured at all in the fourth, The Silver Chair and sixth, The Magician's Nephew, books in the series. However Aslan, the lion, is a key character in all the books.

The character, Mr Tumnus, is a faun. They were popular in old Roman and Greek tales, and are half human (upper body) and half goat (lower body and horns).

The books have been made into three different TV series and in 2005 the first of a series of movies was released.
